Graeme Todd
7 november 2006

The exhibition of the Scottish artist Graeme Todd opens on 7 November at the Galleria Alessandra Bonomo. In this exhibition Graeme Todd exhibits his new paintings, which depict fairytale landscapes created by the artist’s imagination. Spaces that take different shapes, abstract and real at the same time. In his works there are references to German landscape painters, to the masters of American abstraction and to the fascinating Japanese surfaces. In a dimension where time stands still, Graeme Todd gives life to unreal architectures, where even castles are transformed into ships with long shadows. The intricate interactions of points, lines and different thicknesses evoke a multiplicity of emotions and images from the most hidden recesses of memory; layers of transparent lacquer and color create surfaces of precious material density and great charm.
